The Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering invites applications for a non-tenure-track faculty position as Professor of Practice in Manufacturing to begin Spring 2019.
The successful candidate is expected to teach basic and advanced manufacturing related courses; lead the graduate program in manufacturing; serve as the faculty advisor for students in manufacturing and create a strong community for these students to thrive in; engage the faculty in curriculum development; contribute to research proposals to strengthen educational components and industry collaboration; reach out to industry to coordinate experiential activities and internships; and promote diversity and inclusiveness.
Candidates must have an earned doctorate in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a closely related field at the time of appointment. Preference will be given to outstanding candidates who have demonstrated industry experience, as well as familiarity with managing on-campus and online engineering programs.
