The University of Massachusetts at Amherst

The Department of Nutrition
within the School of Public Health and Health Sciences (SPHHS
) applies nutritional science knowledge in the delivery of teaching excellence, research innovation including lab-based and community engaged research and outreach. The department offers both in-person (MS, PhD) and online (MS, MPH) degrees and an undergraduate program which includes an accredited Dietetics Track and a Dietetic Internship Program. The department encourages and supports collaborations within the department, SPHHS and with other departments/units/centers and institutes across UMass. The department is also affiliated with the research-based Nutrition Education Program (NEP), which provides nutrition education to individuals, families, and communities throughout Massachusetts.
The Department of Nutrition
seeks candidates for a tenure track position at the Assistant Professor rank to begin in September 2019. Successful candidates should have a doctoral degree in nutritional sciences or related discipline, a passion for research, and demonstrated potential for extramural funding. Preference will be given to a candidate with expertise in areas including but not limited to basic nutrition research for chronic disease prevention, nutritional interventions, or community-based research. RDN (Registered Dietitian Nutritionist) credential preferred but not required.
