An exciting opportunity is available as a postdoctoral research associate to work with Dr. David Keiser in the Department of Resource Economics at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, starting September 1, 2020. The successful candidate will contribute to a number of research projects on the economics of water quality policies and efforts to measure the social costs of water pollution. Funding is available for 2 years (second year conditional on satisfactory performance in first year).
- Perform research in the general area of the economics of surface and drinking water quality.
- Collect and clean datasets to support research related to the economics of water quality.
- Present research to internal and external academic audiences.
- Help plan and organize an annual workshop on the social costs of water pollution.
- Participate in departmental reading groups.
- Work collaboratively and effectively to promote teamwork, diversity, equality and inclusiveness.
- PhD focused on Environmental and Natural Resource Economics (or closely related field) and been academically active for no longer than 4 years.
- Knowledge of non-market valuation theory and methodologies.
- Knowledge and interest in water resource economics and policy.
- Strong programming capabilities (e.g., Stata, ArcGIS).

Monday – Friday; 8 hours/day; 40 hours/week
