Director Career Planning & Student Development UMass Amherst
The Director of Career Planning and Student Development is responsible for the implementation of the comprehensive career program for the College of Engineering.  The Director manages the overall operations of the Career Center; implements effective career related programs for undergraduate and graduate students; maintains employer and alumni relationships to create expanded job, internship, and graduate school opportunities; and works with faculty and staff to effectively communicate opportunities to students.  The focus of this position is to develop a wide range of experiential learning opportunities for engineering students and to develop and maintain strong relationships with corporate partners.  One of the College’s strategic priorities is to enable every undergraduate student to participate in an experiential learning opportunity prior to graduation.  The Director serves as the educational expert in this area and represents the College to on and off campus constituencies.  The Director also prepares proposals and works closely with Development to acquire resources in support of experiential learning initiatives.
