Participates as a team member to support the Research Administrator, the Associate Dean for Research, and faculty with a goal to increase the number of externally funded research grant proposals, submitted and funded, by federal, state, local, private foundation, and commercial entities. Serves as a resource for faculty and works with the business office to interpret and remain current with federal, state, and University rules and regulations to support the College. Reporting to the Dean, the ADR is a visionary leader that provides strategic direction for the research mission in the college of nursing and for the growth and sustainability of quality research and scholarly activities for all faculty. The ADR role is a faculty, nine-month academic-year position, with additional summer compensation as determined by summer effort. Professional rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

The College of Nursing and the Institute for Applied Life Sciences seek to appoint an Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor to a diverse and growing team of innovators and inventors, clinical researchers, engineers, and basic scientists working together within a state-of-the-art interdisciplinary research institute. Applicants must demonstrate working knowledge of team science, nursing ethics, nursing theory, and the state of the discipline.
Candidates must demonstrate a strong commitment to the creation of a university culture that promotes and values diversity and a spirit of inclusion. Preference will be given to candidates who have a track record of involvement in nurse-led innovation, and who can articulate plans for an externally-fundable program of research compatible with the unique intellectual and physical resources of the Institute for Applied Life Sciences, such as the use of core facilities and collaboratory spaces. Reporting jointly to the Dean of the College of Nursing and the Director of the Institute, the faculty member will engage in the scholarship of discovery, have the opportunity to teach nurses of the future and participate in the development, implementation, and evaluation of educational programming in the College of Nursing. They will work with the College of Nursing faculty and other departments or centers on campus to promote opportunities for inter-professional research and education.
The successful candidate may be expected to teach both undergraduate and graduate courses, supervise graduate students, contribute significantly to the advancement of nursing discovery, establish a vibrant, independent research program, and play an active role in community and academic service activities in the College of Nursing as well as in the wider University.
