Job Summary

Departmental assistant to perform marketing and arts entrepreneurship work to support the Arts Extension Service programs and outreach.

 

Essential Functions

Marketing duties include:

  • Work with AES staff to develop marketing plan including email marketing, social media, web blog, paid advertising, and promotion on and off campus.
  • Create content for all marketing channels including social media posts, blog articles, interviews, etc. and expand the program’s image library.
  • Weekly analytics review.
  • Assist with updating website.

Arts Entrepreneurship Initiative include:

  • Assist in maintaining Current Internship and Job Posting List, help identify and communicate with new internship providers, and develop informational and promotional materials.
  • Assist in planning and coordinating information sessions for potential internship providers, Artist-in-Business trainings, and workshops.

 

Other Functions

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education, Experience, Certifications, Licensure)

  • Experience marketing via social media, email, and print
  • Arts, arts management coursework and/or field experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, editing, and time management skills
  • Experience with Word, Excel and Photoshop
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. 
  • Experience in arts-related field.
  • Excellent administrative, clerical, and computer skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and demonstrate attention to detail.
  • Experience with social media, advertising and marketing.
  • Experience with design programs, such as Adobe programs (Photoshop, InDesign, Creative Suite, etc.)

 

Preferred Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education, Experience, Certifications, Licensure)

  • Graphic design skills
  • Website and social media management experience
  • B.A. in the arts, or related course work
  • Experience with CRM and Drupal

Typical office work environment

Other duties as required.

 

Work Schedule

20 hours per week.

 

Salary Information

$18-$25 per hour based on experience and specific skill set.
