Job Description

The Postdoctoral Research Associate will have the opportunity to assist in both the research and the community-partnered approaches to conducting this research. Responsibilities include writing scientific papers, quantitative and qualitative data collection and/or analysis, literature reviews, community engagement, and grant writing. Overall goals and specific activities will be determined collaboratively between the post-doc and Dr. Mackie but can include multiple first authored and co-authored journal articles, development of project leadership skills, research proposal submissions (PCORI, National Institute of Health, foundations), methods training, community engagement, conference presentations, and formal and informal mentorship and networking opportunities. 

 

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in Health Services Research, Economics, Sociology, Psychology, Economics, Health, Public, or Social Policy, or other related social science or health services research fields completed within the past 2 years. 
  • Research experience in the area of mental healthcare, perinatal healthcare, implementation science, and/or health equity.
  • Strong analytical skills (quantitative, qualitative, and/or mixed methods) 
  • Strong writing skills 
  • Strong oral communication skills 
  • Ability to work across diverse cultural and socio-economic contexts 
  • Excellent organizational skills 
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively 
  • Some travel to conferences and possible occasional evening and/or weekend meetings with community partners.

 

Additional Information

The Postdoctoral Research Associate will contribute to a science of engagement award, funded by the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI), investigating a novel approach to improve community partnerships and related outcomes in research studies.
