Postdoctoral Research Associate - Health Promotion & Policy UMass Amherst
Dr. Kathryn Derose of the UMass Amherst Department of Health Promotion and Policy is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate to begin Summer or Fall of 2021. This is a full time, 12-month, annually renewable position with a maximum duration of 2 years. The Postdoctoral Fellow will contribute to NIH-funded research on community-partnered interventions aimed at addressing health disparities both in the U.S. (Los Angeles) and/or in Latin America (the Dominican Republic). Current topics and populations of focus include faith-based organizations and park-based physical activity interventions among Latinos; and food security and nutrition interventions to improve treatment adherence among people with HIV. In addition, the Postdoctoral Research Associate will have the opportunity to assist in developing new community-partnered work in Western MA. Responsibilities include writing scientific papers, quantitative and qualitative data collection and/or analysis, literature reviews, community engagement, and grant writing. Overall goals and specific activities will be determined collaboratively between the post-doc and Dr. Derose, but can include multiple first-authored and co-authored journal articles, development of project leadership skills, NIH grant submissions, methods training, community-based participatory research, and formalized mentorship.

Real Properties Facilities Initiative Data Management Analyst - Nationwide Search UMass Amherst
The University of Massachusetts Donahue Institute (UMDI) is a public service, outreach, and economic development unit of the University of Massachusetts, providing government, business, and non-profit organizations with effective solutions in the areas of research, organizational development, training, and technical assistance through its 9 distinct business units. UMDI has a budget of approximately $23 million per year and employs approximately 130 full-time professional employees, and 50 part-time, seasonal, and graduate student employees. UMDI has been tasked to: (a) help increase capacity for the Office of Head Start (OHS) Regional Offices (RO) in the determination, tracking, and management of the federal interest in Head Start (HS) and Early Head Start (EHS) grantee facilities nationwide; and (b) provide technical assistance in the funding of safe and healthy facilities for HS children through the Real Property Facilities Initiative (RPFI). The Real Properties Facilities Initiative Data Management Analyst (RPFI-DMA) will collaborate with RPFI staff, to include staff from partnering organizations, in the creation of processes that will enhance the capacity of the team to manage data and reporting across the twelve OHS regions. The RPFI-DMA may be located anywhere in the US and may be required to maintain a home office. The RPFI-DMA will communicate and work with RPFI and UMass staff, and sponsor organizations. The RPFI-DMA is responsible for developing, managing, analyzing, processing and maintaining RPFI data systems. Psychology Postdoctoral Fellow UMass Amherst
Under the general direction of the Director of Center for Counseling and Psychological Health (CCPH). Post-Doctoral Fellows receive advanced training and supervision in psychological assessment, with a heavy emphasis on the evaluation of Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and, to a lesser extent, Learning Disabilities. Post-Doctoral Fellows are expected to complete twenty assessments during the training year. The Connected Beginnings Training Institute (CBTI) provides, coordinates, evaluates, and advocates for effective professional development and training aimed at enhancing the social emotional well-being of young children within their early childhood care and education experiences. Launched in 2006, CBTI joined UMDI in 2019 in order to continue its mission to build the capacity of infant and early childhood practitioners across disciplines to engage in nurturing relationships with the very young children and families they serve in order to promote best practice and social emotional wellness. Through the Massachusetts Early Education and Care (EEC) StrongStart Training and Technical Assistance initiative, UMDI has led the Central Massachusetts Professional Development Center (PDC) since its creation in 2019. Research Manager - ARPE UMass Amherst
The University of Massachusetts Donahue Institute (UMDI) Applied Research and Program Evaluation (ARPE) business unit conducts social science research projects in direct response to specific client needs. ARPE studies typically focus on questions related to public health, human/social services, and education across the age spectrum (from early childhood through post-secondary and adult education). ARPE Research Managers work with the unit Director and Senior Research Managers to conceive of and create new projects and develop project scopes, budgets, and project work plans. Research Mangers are responsible for the day-to-day management of assigned projects, including conceptualizing and developing sound research plans and timelines, implementing plans within stated timelines, conducting appropriate quantitative and/or qualitative analyses of data, implementing quality control processes, and synthesizing data to surface findings, and developing high quality project deliverables with clearly stated conclusions and recommendations. Research Managers are expected to possess a solid foundation in research methods, strong verbal and written communication skills, analytical skills, and the ability to independently manage projects or components of complex projects. Research Managers must be comfortable with mixed-methods research approaches, including both qualitative and quantitative research designs. Depending on the size and scope of projects, Research Managers may be responsible for supervising and mentoring staff on their project team, and are expected to foster a collaborative team approach to project implementation. Although not solely responsible for developing new business, Research Managers are expected to identify funding opportunities and participate in development activities.

The 4-H Extension Educator for the Central-Southeast region will collaborate with one other peer professional to provide programmatic leadership and management for UMass Extension 4-H Youth Development Programs in  the region consisting of Norfolk, Bristol, and Worcester counties. They will develop and implement educational programs and resources for youth ages 5-18, and provide support and oversight for collaborating adult volunteers and partner organizations. The 4-H Extension Educator will supervise training and management systems for volunteers, including those for subsidiary organizations and advisory bodies, recruit, and provide oversight for youth and adult participants and volunteers.
