Utilities Instrumentation and Controls Technician (Building Maintenance)

This position is responsible for testing, certifying, installing, repairing, and inspecting instrument and control systems. It maintains instruments that measure, record, and operate the process-controlled systems used in research buildings and supports the campus with instrument calibrations. Key responsibilities include:
Installing, maintaining, monitoring, operating, troubleshooting, and repairing building management systems (BMS), including electric, electronic, low-voltage electrical wiring, electro-mechanical controls, HVAC, field points, and communication wiring.
Repairing and initiating repairs on control systems, variable frequency drives, motor controls, and related equipment.
Using specialized testing, monitoring, and diagnostic equipment.
Working with other technicians/trade personnel to maintain building systems integrity. |

Areas of specialization are open. Coordinator of Commonwealth Honors College Co-Curricular Events

This position collaborates with all Commonwealth Honors College (CHC) units to implement student events, programs, and activities for all CHC students. This position will include working with the Commonwealth Honors College Residential Community (CHCRC) residential hall staff to plan inclusive and co-programming to ensure that all CHC students experience a living and learning community regardless of their residential area. This position will also plan and implement various co-curricular and extracurricular programming and assume responsibilities for the CHC inductions for our first-year students at the beginning of the fall semester. Additionally, this position will coordinate recruitment and outreach activities in collaboration with the UMass Amherst Office of Admissions. This position will also supervise the student ambassadors who are involved in recruitment and outreach events and activities. |

Under the general supervision of the Assistant Director of Retention & Academic Success, School of Public Health & Health Sciences (SPHHS), the Academic Success Advisor provides comprehensive advising for university undeclared and exploratory track students; implements and coordinates programs and services to promote the academic success of undergraduate at-risk students, provides 4+1 advising for undergraduate students moving into graduate study; and is responsive to the needs of a large number of highly diverse students. |
