Research Computing & Data (RCD) in collaboration with the Center for Data Science (CDS) at the University of Massachusetts Amherst (UMass) is hiring a Research Fellow in research software and research computing facilitation. UMass is a fast growing research computing leader in New England and this unique role provides ample opportunity to impact research computing both regionally and nationally. UMass Amherst’s primary research computing resource is the Unity Research Computing Platform, a collaborative cluster led by UMass Amherst in cooperation with UMass Dartmouth, UMass Lowell, UMass Boston, and the University of Rhode Island. Unity is housed at the Massachusetts Green High Performance Computing Center (MGHPCC), a joint datacenter which hosts stand alone and other collaborative research computing systems from UMass, MIT, Harvard, Northeastern, Boston University, and Yale, as well as a variety of other universities and colleges in partnership with one of the main datacenter sponsors.
4-H Extension Educator III - Mt. Ida (Hybrid Opportunity) Mt. Ida - Newton, UMass Amherst

They are responsible for the maintenance and coordination of the TMA database that is utilized for all Facilities work orders. Postdoctoral Research Associate 100% - CBIKS UMass Amherst
This position is with the Center for Braiding Indigenous Knowledges and Science (CBIKS), a National Science Foundation Science & Technology Center. CBIKS is an interdisciplinary center that examines how to effectively and ethically braid Western and Indigenous science research, education, and practice related to the urgent and interconnected challenges of climate change, protections of cultural places, and food sovereignty. CBIKS activities include studying and promoting wise practices in community-based research with Indigenous communities, from relationship development and the research development process through storywork and knowledge mobilization. CBIKS activities include promoting the respectful braiding of Indigenous science with Western science, and supporting community-based research agendas and collaborative research design. This position assists CBIKS thematic research groups in conducting “science of science” research within the CBIKS network. The eight research theme areas at CBIKS are: ethics, data sovereignty, relationality & research development, fieldwork & braiding knowledges, formal & informal science education, storywork & knowledge mobilization, training scientists, and policy & government agencies. This is an on-site position at CBIKS Central on the UMass Amherst campus in Amherst, MA with the possibility of some remote work. This is a one-year position with a possibility of renewal for a second year. Postdocs are expected to engage in at least two of the eight research themes. For its initial three years (with potential for renewal) the position will be affiliated with Slavery North, an initiative that seeks to advance social justice by centering the cultures, experiences, lives, and resistance of enslaved peoples in Canada and the US North while bolstering public understanding of the social and cultural impacts of trans-Atlantic slavery and its legacies in the North, including how that history manifests in anti-Black racism today.
