Associate/Full - Marieb Endowed Professorship - Joint Colleges of Nursing / Engineering UMass Amherst

This position offers the unique opportunity to join a strong team of collaborators between these colleges in the Elaine Marieb Center for Nursing and Engineering Innovation as well as part of the larger University-wide Institute for Applied Life Sciences (IALS) and its Center for Personalized Health Monitoring (CPHM). Eligible candidates for this position may be appointed to a Marieb endowed professorship. In addition, the successful candidate is expected to take a leadership role in large, collaborative, sponsored research projects.

Pen Tishkach Chair & IHGMS Director UMass Amherst
The University seeks a distinguished senior scholar in the field of Holocaust, Genocide, and Memory Studies to serve as Director of the IHGMS. The Director will be the Pen Tishkach Chair of Holocaust Studies; the Pen Tishkach endowment provides research support as well as funding for Institute programming.  Leadership of the Institute requires a dynamic and inclusive leader with demonstrated ability to engage diverse constituents and academic disciplines both domestically and internationally.  The successful candidate will also have experience in fundraising and a vision for institutional development at a public research university.  The successful candidate will also teach undergraduate and graduate courses. The University offers a wide range of opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration, including strong programs in Public History, literary and cultural studies, and a vibrant Department of Judaic and Near Eastern Studies. The proximity of the Yiddish Book Center and resources in the Five College Consortium further enrich the intellectual community.    Specific disciplinary focus for the Director is open; the tenure home is anticipated to be in the College of Humanities and Fine Arts (http://www.umass.edu/hfa/), in the department best aligned with the successful candidate's expertise.
Associate/Full Professor - Biomedical/Chemical Engineering UMass Amherst
The Departments of Chemical Engineering (ChE) and Biomedical Engineering (BME) at the University of Massachusetts Amherst invite applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the Associate or Full Professor rank. The position will be a 50:50 joint appointment between ChE and BME. Individuals with research interests broadly across the entire intersection of ChE and BME will be considered. These areas include, but are not limited to biomaterials, pharmaceutical development, drug delivery, oncology, biosensors, and biotechnology. Applicants working in areas with a strong clinical and translational focus are strongly encouraged to apply. The candidate is expected to teach existing graduate and undergraduate courses in Chemical Engineering and Biomedical Engineering and will be encouraged to develop creative new curricula in areas of their interest or across disciplines. The projected start date for these roles is September 1, 2025.
