The research fellow will conduct interviews with research participants, facilitate focus groups for research purposes, oversee collection of qualitative data and intervention process evaluation data by collaborators, analyze qualitative and quantitative data, coordinate training events, ensure that research projects meet regulatory requirements, coordinate the work of students and staff, oversee COVID-19 mitigation efforts as needed, prepare budget reports, assist with project management, co-author reports and papers for dissemination, and perform other research-related tasks. Research populations may include people with opioid and other substance use disorders, criminal justice involved individuals (including incarcerated), individuals with mental health conditions, and people with HIV and food insecurity. |

The Department of English at the University of Massachusetts Amherst invites applications for a non-tenure track full-time nine-month Lecturer position as the Chief Undergraduate Advisor to begin with Spring 2025 semester. The initial appointment will be for two years with the possibility of renewal.
The successful applicant would be responsible for advising undergraduate English majors, teaching three English courses each academic year (a 2/1 load), and a range of other duties related to advising, including career preparation and outreach to campus entities.
Advising experience is preferred but not required.

The Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering in collaboration with the Miner School of Computer Science are seeking a postdoctoral researcher who will have the opportunity to conduct wearable robot research and development.
Through an award from the National Science Foundation, the project seeks to develop wearable robotic assistive strategies that adapt to the user’s needs and environment. In this portion of the project, we aim to use soft wearable sensors at the hip and knee to extract information about the user’s walking mechanics and update control strategies. To achieve the specific aims of the project, the researcher will need to identify salient features from the collected data that can be used to update the controller as user/task demands change, incorporate the data into a real-time controller, and evaluate the effectiveness of the control approach. |
