Instrumentation Engineer UMass Amherst
The Electronics Shop Manager - Instrumentation Engineer for Chemistry Department’s electronics shop works under the minimal direction of the Director of Operations and Administration). This position maintains and develops resources essential to the Chemistry and Biochemistry& Molecular Biology Departments’ teaching and research facilities focused on both aging and advanced technology instrumentation support.This includes design, fabrication, installation, repairing, maintaining and documenting complex electronics instrumentation and related mechanical equipment. Supports for additional affiliated departments will be considered as time and resources permit.

Perform research in nuclear and particle physics at the Jefferson Laboratory (JLab) in Newport News, VA.  Help in the planning, simulation, and running of experiments at JLab. Analyze experimental data, and write scientific papers. Lead or assist in the preparation of new physics proposals. Assist in the supervision and advising of graduate students and undergraduate students working on JLab projects.
Postdoctoral Research Associate - Chemical Engineering UMass Lowell
The successful applicant will conduct computational research in nuclear materials and advanced energy materials. The candidate will develop, train and test machine learning algorithms for performing materials simulations using methods such as dense neural networks, gaussian processes, and graph convolutional networks. Materials of interest include molten salts, which are used as a heat transfer fluid in advanced fission and fusion reactors, and doped ceramic materials for high-temperature electric-thermal energy storage. The candidate will help immediate supervisor in writing scholarly articles and proposals. Salary will be competitive and based on experience of the candidate. The initial appointment will be for 1 year with a possibility of renewal based on the productivity and performance and the availability of funding.
