Departmental Assistant - Deer Mouse Field Technician (Colorado) UMass Amherst
The Senner Lab in the Department of Environmental Conservation is seeking to hire one seasonal field technician to assist with research on the ecology of deer mice (Peromyscus maniculatus) in Colorado. The project is focused on understanding how deer mouse physiology and population dynamics are influenced by parasites and environmental variation. The field technician will assist with all aspects of fieldwork, with opportunities for learning research skills throughout the season and potentially carrying out their own individual research projects in the future. The position will run from 1 May – 15 October 2024. Airfare, shared field housing, food, all necessary equipment, and a stipend of $15/hour will be provided.

Controls & Refrigeration System Specialist (Watch Tour) UMass Amherst
Provides excellent customer service while acting as the first responder for all maintenance calls for Metasys Building Automation Systems alarms, temperature (too hot/too cold) calls, and calls involving emergency and routine repairs (as allowed by existing codes) involving plumbing, electrical, elevator entrapments and failures, heat and cooling systems, security hardware, locks and life safety equipment failures. Calls also involve fire alarms, sprinkler activation, and custodial calls that present a health or safety risk. Performs corrective actions to trouble calls and alarms or determines that a specialized tradesperson or service contractor is required to make necessary repairs. Performs scheduled maintenance tasks as required or as assigned. Coordinates the actions of personnel called to resolve emergency situations.

Manages clinical and administrative operations for Hampshire College Health Services. Consults with staff and clinical providers at University Health Services (UHS) and Hampshire College administrators regarding health records, business management, accreditation, phlebotomy, specialist referrals, and all aspects of clinical operations.
Plumber And Steamfitter I (Zone 4) UMass Amherst
Installs, repairs, alters and maintains fluid transmission systems, sanitary fixtures, heating systems, low and high pressure steam lines, condensate lines, water lines, sprinkler lines, sewer lines; and performs other related work as required, including but not limited to, trade related asbestos abatement, repairs and/or initiates repairs on building systems such as; pneumatic control systems, heating and ventilation (HVAC) systems, cooling towers, pumps and  related  equipment. Employing the use and need of specialized testing and monitoring, diagnostic equipment; works synchronously with Control Technicians / trade personnel maintaining the building systems integrity, exercises functional supervision of other employees of lower grade performing related repair and maintenance activities. Performs related work as required.  This is a maintenance function, which includes overtime and returning to work between shifts when directed or called.
