Artist-In-Residence/Research Fellow UMass Amherst
The Artist-In-Residence (Research Fellow) for Slavery North will actively participate in both the scholarly and social environment of the center. Artists-in-Residence, with support of Slavery North leadership, will conduct independent research and create original works in one or more of the five mandate areas of Slavery North which include 1) Canadian Slavery, (2) slavery in the US North, (3) the comparative study of slavery in Canada, the US North, and other northern or temperate regions, (4) the study of the inter-connectedness of slavery in Canada and the US North with Caribbean Slavery, and (5) Black-Indigenous relations in Canadian Slavery or US North Slavery. Furthermore, the research must center on the enslaved and/or adopt an anti-colonial, de-colonial, post-colonial, and/or anti-racist methodology/approach which challenges the nature of European and Euro-American imperialism and colonialism and interrogates the racist logic of the institution of Transatlantic Slavery.
Visiting (Open Rank) Research Professor UMass Amherst
The Visiting (Open Rank) Research Professor for Slavery North will actively participate in both the scholarly and social environment of the center. Dining Hall Supervisor (Mt. Ida) Mt. Ida - Newton
Supervises unit control by placement and supervision of personnel assigned to food service unit or units under the prescribed operational schedules and guidelines of said unit(s).
Maintenance Technician II (Alterations - Carpenter, Painter, Glass) UMass Amherst
Provides a wide variety of services to the Alterations Department including, but not limited to, demolition and abatement of hazardous materials; installation and maintenance of finishes; and repairs to structural and architectural building components. Responsibilities include the renovation, maintenance, and repair of University buildings and spaces and applying appropriate skills and methods as necessary in the areas of carpentry, glass replacement/repair, and painting.
Electrician I (Card Access Technician) UMass Amherst
Installs, maintains, operates, repairs and/or initiates repairs on building systems such as, but not limited to, card access systems, security systems, fire alarms, communication equipment, and their related devices and performs other related work as required. Employs the use of specialized testing and monitoring, diagnostic equipment; works synchronously with contractors, engineers, control technicians, etc. to maintain the building systems integrity.  Exercises functional supervision of other employees of lower grade performing related repair and maintenance activities.
Plumber And Steamfitter I (Facilities Services) UMass Amherst
Installs, repairs, alters and maintains fluid transmission systems, sanitary fixtures, heating systems, low- and high-pressure steam lines, condensate lines, water lines, sprinkler lines, sewer lines; and performs other related work as required, including but not limited to repairs and/or initiates repairs on building systems such as; pneumatic control systems, heating and ventilation (HVAC) systems, cooling towers, pumps and related equipment. Employing the use and need of specialized testing and monitoring diagnostic equipment; works synchronously with trade personnel maintaining the building systems integrity.

Steam Fireman II (First Class Steam Fireman License) UMass Amherst
The person holding this position will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the University of Massachusetts Amherst Central Heating Plant equipment and systems and assists with maintenance tasks assigned.
Maintenance Technician II (Painter, Carpenter, Mason) UMass Amherst
The Maintenance Technician II maintains buildings and related structures by applying appropriate skills and methods in painting, carpentry, and masonry. As painter applies paint, varnish, wallpaper, and similar materials in finishing and decorating interior and exterior surfaces. As carpenter installs, maintains, finishes, and repairs architectural surfaces, structures, hardware, building system components, structural elements, finishes and repairs equipment/furnishings within campus-wide structures and areas. As mason constructs and repairs brick, block and plasters walls, walkways, repairs manholes and catch basins, performs demolition work, mixes concrete and mortar, applies appropriate skills and methods as necessary in the areas of masonry. May assist other employees in the performance of their work. Performs related work as required. This is a maintenance function, which includes overtime, returning to work between shifts when directed or called.

Employing the use and need of specialized testing and monitoring, diagnostic equipment; works synchronously with Control Technicians / trade personnel maintaining the building systems integrity, exercises functional supervision of other employees of lower grade performing related repair and maintenance activities.
Head Dishroom Attendant (Worcester Dining Commons) UMass Amherst
Directs the operation of a dish room, supervising dish room personnel and participating in manual tasks involved in cleaning tableware, utensils, equipment and work areas; provide training for new employees; performs related work as required.
Departmental Assistant (Desktop Support Specialist) UMass Amherst
The Desktop Support Specialist (Departmental Assistant) configures, maintains, and supports the computer systems operated by Administration & Finance (A&F) Information Technology clients. These computer system, and the services they deliver, provide mission critical services to A&F Information Technology. These services include file and print sharing, group collaboration, messaging and calendaring, and managed server and workstation security. Additionally, the person recommends new technologies, and participates in implementation and special projects as required. This is a temporary, non-benefited appointment/position.
