Registrar Technical Specialists are subject matter experts in one or more areas of work carried out by the Registrar’s Office: registration, records, graduation, scheduling etc. Registrar Technical Specialists are responsible for carrying out the regular business practices associated with each of those areas. They will be responsible for keeping up to date on academic and University policies associated with their areas and be able to apply those policies and practices to their particular area of responsibility. They are responsible for developing and implementing business practices for their areas that are in compliance with University policies, academic requirements and legal requirements (FERPA, etc). Technical Specialists serve as first points of contacts for students and other business offices regarding matters related to their areas, including acting as primary liaisons for their areas to Undergrad Studies, University Advising, One Stop, Graduate Studies, Financial Aid, Admissions, etc. They are expected to develop expertise in the particular software programs and applications required in their areas which may include: PeopleSoft, the CollegeSource degree audit system (uAchieve), Perceptive Content, Salesforce, Acalog, Curriculog, etc. In addition, Technical Specialists will share in covering office-wide responsibilities including phone and email coverage. |

The Executive Director of Industry Engagement will serve as a senior leader responsible for expanding UMass Lowell’s corporate partnerships and workforce development initiatives, with special attention to our STEM-focused partners, particularly in emerging technologies such as AI, robotics, advanced manufacturing, cybersecurity, and clean energy. The Executive Director will play a central role in advancing the region's economic ecosystem through robust corporate collaboration and workforce development initiatives. This includes creating industry-sector collaborations and coordination with state quasi’s such as MassTech, MassCEC, MLSC, MASS-TF, etc. In addition, the Executive Director will guide efforts to meet regional and national labor market demands—especially in advanced manufacturing, STEM fields, and onshoring—while fostering educational pathways for nontraditional learners, career changers, and individuals without a four-year degree. The position will champion UMass Lowell’s leadership in stackable microcredentials, certificate-based programs, and corporate training partnerships while leading efforts to secure grants and external funding that drive innovation and access for lifelong learners. |
